As you are aware, our nation, our world, is facing a health crisis, and many communities now require mandatory face masks while in public. Sew What? Inc., in our effort to help out, has switched from making curtains and backdrops for the entertainment industry to currently making personal cloth face masks. From plain masks to designer masks to masks benefiting a variety of causes, this is truly a labor of love by the owner Megan Duckett.
Colleen and Kevin Swank from Cym Lighting Services recently shared a picture of Colleen wearing one of our masks. Even though this year’s ride has been cancelled, on her bike from The Unlikely Cyclist (a woman owned company that as supported Colleen over the years), Colleen is still training to continue to bring attention to AIDS LifeCycle and to the LGBTQ Center of San Fernando Valley.
We recently added a mask from which $1.00 of the cost will go to “True Colors United” to benefit their work with LGBTQ Youth Homelessness, as well as another mask from which $1.00 from the purchase will go to “MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund” to help the many musicians who have had their livelihoods canceled due to the virus. These, along with masks to help “Save Our Rhino” and “Help Feed the Frontlines Fighting COVID-19,” are all part of the mask line we are making to help those in need while also helping slow the spread of the virus.
Most orders can be easily placed on the mask website – c19response.sewwhatinc.com
We at Sew What? Inc. hope you and your family are safe, healthy and happy while we work through these trying times together.
