Sometimes adding a simple, but dramatic, element to your event design can make all the difference in the world towards “bringing it fully together.” A beautiful rental drape or backdrop can absolutely be that extra touch—and is an easy and affordable way to solidify your event’s overall motif. We here at Rent What? Inc., and myself especially, were thrilled to work with one of our regular tour and production managers Laura Jean “LJ” Hyde Clark with a drapery element for her upcoming nuptials to Patrick Clark in New Orleans, Louisiana. They wanted something that would go nicely with the completely unique theme of the wedding, in a very special venue—The House of Blues in New Orleans.

LJ had come up with the concept of their entire wedding extravaganza, down to the very last detail. They were going for a truly original “Great Gatsby/Freakshow” sort of vibe. With influences from Beetlejuice and Greatest Showman, and in primarily black and gold design elements, they wanted to create a spectacularly dark, spooky, and macabre atmosphere. Working with the venue’s remarkable in-house Lighting Director Austin Dominique, they decided to rent one of our versatile and dynamic RGB Chameleon LED drapes to help pull together their desired “distinctive” look. 

This style of LED drape is wonderful for concert tours, theater productions, and other special events that you want to add a very unique touch to. Offering the option to use either the supplied on-drape controller and instruction manual to program the drape directly yourself, or to plug it into the in-house light board via the DMX cable provided means that it fits the needs of both small and large events and tours. This curtain allows you to change the color palette and speed of the blinking lights, and specify all sorts of fun and vibrant color patterns, too. You can literally have as many color schemes as you’d like, and chose from hundreds of gradations on its almost infinite color palette. Moreover, this can all be done ahead of time so that the drape would be all ready to go for your event or show.
