About a week ago, Rent What? and Sew What? had their first official combined company annual dinner at the House of Blues on Sunset, in Hollywood, California. Our president and CEO Megan Duckett’s band Without Warning has performed there a few times, and we thought it was the perfect place to celebrate a wonderful and successful year together, officially combined now under one amazing leader. It was an extremely fun and crazy night to remember for years to come!

Everyone was dressed to the hilt and ready to party the night away, as we started our evening with drinks in the super chic and ultra exclusive Foundation Room upstairs. With woven fabrics adorning the walls, skyline views of Downtown LA, and comfy sofa seating around a beautiful fireplace, it was a gorgeous lounge and the perfect setting for our cocktail hour. We were able to really talk with one another on a more personal level, and it was great to see everyone having such a good time. Following drinks in the lounge was a private dinner party in one of the adjacent rooms, called “The Captain’s Room”, as it was an exact replica of the lush Captain’s dining room on the sister ship to the Titanic. Beautiful dark wood paneling, mood lighting and candles on every table, and unique wall decorations from that time period made it incredibly lush and very festive. Grilled chicken with roasted vegetables, steak with a rich mushroom sauce, or summer corn risotto all made for extremely decadent dining. The meal itself was simply incredible, and practically not a morsel was left on anyone’s plate! Then when we felt we weren’t going to be able to eat another bite, out came the molten chocolate lava cakes and apple spice bread pudding with whiskey sauce. Absolutely delicious!

After this amazing meal, some of the staff needed to get home, and some stayed behind to continue the night’s festivities. There was a really local great ska/punk band called Tomorrows Bad Seeds performing on the main stage who kept people dancing and moving into the wee hours of the night, and were a really fun way to end an incredible evening of camaraderie and bonding. Sew What? and Rent What? is definitely a “Family of Whatters”, and being able to really celebrate ourselves as one big family was a night that none of us will ever forget!
