Next in our series of “Meet the RW? Staff” is perhaps the most unique, and definitely most beloved, employee this company has ever had. We’d love to introduce you to Crispin, who has been an invaluable member of the Sew What? AND Rent What? family since the moment he stepped paw through our company doors. He wanted to tell you his story himself, so please take a moment and read all about this lovable, cuddly, and silky soft little fella who has made our work environment so wonderful this past year. We honestly don’t know what we would do without him!

When did you first start at Sew What?/Rent What?

My mommy, Megan Duckett (owner and CEO of both companies) brought me into the company as soon as I found her son William at a local park back in February of 2012, knowing I would be the perfect “work dog”. They all knew that I would bring unique insight (and lots of warm fuzzies) into everyone’s daily work life and would soon become the most popular employee by far.

If you could take a vacation to anywhere in the world, where would you go?

I’m a city dog by birth, but down deep I’m definitely more comfortable in nature. I LOVE the sun and find a nice sunbeam whenever possible. So I would have to say I’d love to go anywhere peaceful and sunny with lots of squirrels to chase and yummy snacks to nibble on, preferably while getting my belly rubbed whenever I wanted.

What kind of work did you do before coming to Sew What?/Rent What?

My previous life needs to remain a mystery for those involved. I can say, though, that I was left to fend for myself for quite some time, which made me very resilient and clever. However, I must admit I rather like being a “kept dog” now and have become accustomed to a certain pooch’s lifestyle filled with bottled water, expensive doggy treats, and my very own air conditioned “office”.

Do you have a special talent?

One look from my big brown eyes, and I can melt the heart of the most hardened human.  I have been known to magically reduce the blood pressure of those around me, too, just by being so darned cute. Oh, and I’ve learned people’s lunchtime routines very well and can place myself in the right place at the right time to get a morsel from just about anyone I want.

What is your favorite memory from being part of the “Whatters” family?

I’m rather fond of the very first day my mommy brought me here to work—I was very nervous at first, but belly rub after belly rub, and doggy snack after doggy snack, and I soon knew I had found myself another home away from home.

What is your favorite sports team/TV Show?

Anything on Animal Planet, of course! Personally, I really like “My Cat From Hell”, because it finally admits to something I’ve ALWAYS known about cats—they are put here from hell purely to torture us doggies. Squirrels, too, but that’s another story.

What are some of your hobbies?

I love chasing and running around with my toys and balls (I don’t HAVE to bring them back to you for ME to have fun, you know), I can fall asleep in a sunbeam in 20 seconds flat, and I adore going for walks with my mommy and Rent What? family members anytime they’ll take me.

What project have you worked on recently that was interesting or challenging?

I am trying to learn some new tricks here at the office that have been especially challenging (“Paw”, “Sit”, and “Stay”, amongst a few others). I am learning some quicker than others, but I am enjoying all of the delicious treats I am getting just for my efforts. (Suckers!)

Anything more about your time here at SW?/RW?

I really love that I am an official employee of Sew What? and Rent What? and have been welcomed into the “Whatters” family so wholeheartedly. I look forward to coming to work each and every day, knowing that I’ll soon be getting my ears rubbed and my head patted, and especially knowing that everyone is always so happy to see me. (Wouldn’t YOU be, too??) Ahhh, it’s the life, I gotta tell you…!
